By placing an order with Riddle’s Hedgehogs and Friends, LLC, the buyer agrees to the following terms:

Pet Hedgehog Sales

Riddle’s Hedgehogs never knowingly sells an unhealthy hedgehog. We guarantee the health of your hedgehog for 30 days after the date of pick-up. This guarantee is limited to pre-existing conditions known to be present before leaving our home. A written report from a licensed veterinarian who regularly treats hedgehogs must accompany the return of the hedgehog to include a statement that the condition was present at the time of purchase. Full purchase price will be refunded or a replacement will be given depending upon the buyer’s preference and current availability.

A lifetime guarantee against Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome (WHS) is also provided for all hedgehogs born here. A necropsy must be performed to confirm WHS at the buyer’s expense. If WHS is confirmed, we will refund the price of the necropsy and purchase price of the hedgehog. We will also discontinue breeding those lines.

Riddle’s Hedgehogs also guarantees that all hedgehogs born here are free of any congenital defects for one year after the date of pick-up. A written report from a licensed veterinarian who regularly treats hedgehogs must be presented as proof. If a hedgehog should die from a congenital defect within the first year, full purchase price will be refunded or a replacement will be given depending upon the buyer’s preference and current availability.

Refunds/Exchanges

Riddle’s Hedgehogs will take back your hedgehog at any time, if you determine that your hedgehog is not a good fit for you. Keep in mind, that my hedgehogs are weaned and ready for pick up at 6 weeks of age.

  1. Returned under 8 weeks of age:
    Percentage refunded: 100%
  2. Returned under 10 weeks of age:
    Percentage refunded: 75%
  3. Returned under 6 months of age:
    Percentage refunded: 25%
  4. Returned over 6 months of age:
    Percentage refunded: 0% – Considered a Rescue

Note: If the hedgehog is returned to us unhealthy due to improper care or neglect, no refund will be given.

Deposits

A $50.00 nonrefundable deposit is required to hold a hedgehog until the pick-up date. Deposits can be paid via credit card through my web site, money order, or personal check (if enough time is allowed for the check to clear).

Full payment must be received no later than 2 weeks after the hedgehog’s ready date listed on the web site or the deposit will be retained and the hedgehog will be sold to someone else. The remaining balance must be paid either via Paypal.com, cash, money order or major credit card at the time of pick up – no personal checks, no exceptions!

I will send you an invoice through Square if you prefer to pay be credit card prior to pick up.

Shipping/Delivery

I am currently shipping my hedgehogs via United PetSafe at a shipping rate of $140.00 to most major airports. I can ship multiple hedgehogs at this rate. Inquire if interested.

I will deliver hedgehogs for $0.50/mile one way. To get an estimate of the delivery charge, you can check the distance between your location and Winchester, VA 22603 and multiply that by $0.50. I use Google Maps. Delivery is available depending on my availability.

We frequently make trips to Baltimore, MD, and DC Metro. If we are making a trip to your area, we will not charge for delivery. If someone else is purchasing a hedgehog in your area, we will split delivery charges when possible.

Visitation

We believe it is a good idea to educate yourself and see a hedgehog in person before putting a deposit down. You are welcome to set up a time to come and take a look at a couple of our hedgehogs and learn some interesting facts before committing to purchase one. This visit will take around 30 minutes. You are welcome to ask questions and hold a hedgehog. There is a $15.00 fee for this visit, but it will be applied to a future purchase of a hedgehog.

Summary of Buying Process

  1. $50.00 deposit sent for a hedgehog.
  2. Buyer is contacted to choose from available hedgehogs.
  3. Hedgehog is place “On Hold” for buyer.
  4. A pick-up date is arranged.
  5. Buyer sends remaining payment or pays at pick-up.
  6. Pick-Up

Hedgehog City Product Sales

If something isn’t right or you just change your mind, we are happy to accept a return. Please read below for all of the details you need to know.

Please package your item(s) and proof of purchase in either the original packaging or your own package within 30 days and send to: Riddle’s Hedgehogs, 964 Valley View Drive, Winchester, VA 22603. Once we have received your package, we will refund you for your original purchase price and any original shipping charges. You will be responsible for any return shipping charges.

Please note:

  1. Returned item(s) must be unused and in new condition with any tags/labels attached.
  2. Item(s) must be returned within 30 days of purchase.
  3. You are responsible for all costs associated with returning the item to us.
  4. Original payment will be refunded upon receiving the returned item(s). No exchanges.

Received something faulty?

  • If something is faulty or incorrectly described, we will happily refund the purchase price and delivery charges, or send out a replacement product provided the item is returned within a reasonable time with proof of purchase. Please contact us for a return shipping label to be sent to you via e-mail.
  • Original shipping costs can’t be refunded if there are other items listed on the original invoice that you aren’t returning.

Marketing and Usage

By purchasing from Hedgehog City / Riddles’s Hedgehogs and Friends, LLC, you grant permission for your contact information to be added to the Hedgehog City email mailing list from which you can opt-out at anytime.
